AA Breakdown Repair - Beware

We experienced brake problems with our car. "Mistake" 1 was to be concerned enough about the car and our safety to pull into Kwik-Fit and let them check it out. Kwik-Fit were great, but the rear caliper of the car was not and had seized. It was at the point of complete failure, with all seals melted.

The true mistake was to phone the AA breakdown repair service and say we were stranded at Kwiz-Fit and ask what we should do. They promptly informed me that because we had pulled into a garage it was no longer their problem. Had we just parked at the pavement next to Kwik-Fit and phoned the AA breakdown service first, we would be covered. (Not convinced we would have been though.)

So new calipers, discs, pads, handbrake cables later we have the privilege of paying the bill ourselves.

Time to cancel the AA policy. Especially since they like to auto renew without telling you.
